Xiaomi launches electric vehicle

Joining the ranks of consumer electronics companies entering the automotive space, Xiaomi’s foray stands out as a solo venture in terms of branding. Unlike Sony’s collaboration with Honda, Xiaomi’s SU7, a “full-size high-performance eco-technology sedan,” is set to hit the Chinese market next year.

Benefiting from China’s burgeoning EV supply chain, Xiaomi has been developing the “HyperOS” for years, positioning it as a comprehensive operating system. The focus at MWC this year revolves around “Human x Car x Home,” emphasizing the redefinition of connectivity.

According to the company, Xiaomi’s transition from “Smartphone x AIoT” to “Human x Car x Home” aims to create a smart ecosystem, facilitating real-time coordination and advancements in collaboration with industry partners. HyperOS, designed for cross-device collaboration, integrates over 200 product categories, covering more than 95% of user scenarios with 600 million global devices. Xiaomi is actively working with third-party manufacturers, developers, and partners to deliver on its ambitious promises.
