Xiaomi premiered its latest smartphone in its midrange lineup, the Redmi 12, in the Kenyan market. The phone sells at an affordable price of 20,799, which is good news for most smartphone buyers looking for an upgraded memory and storage option.

Redmi 12 has a 6.79-inch FHD+ DotDisplay screen, with 550 nits peak brightness with an adaptive 90Hz refresh rate. The 2460 × 1080 resolution promises to provide a memorable user experience, be it video playback or gaming. To avoid any eye strain or discomfort, the Redmi 12 has integrated its SGS Low Blue Light certified and User Mode 3.0, allowing for extended use. Its I53 rating makes the Redmi 12 resistant to water splashes and dust.

The Redmi 12 runs on Android 13 with MIUI 14, with Xiaomi promising to roll out two major Android updates. The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G88 processor with RAM and storage options starting from 8GB and 128GB/256GB respectively.
