How much does Netflix cost in Kenya?

Netflix Kenya

There are many streaming platforms across the globe, but only some of them are available to Kenyans: Netflix and Showmax. Netflix is the most popular streaming app in the country for various reasons: it has a rich catalogue of films and shows, and it just works for most people. Besides, it is available in Kenya for free, but only if you access it from a smartphone. The free plan also has limited films and shows. Furthermore, Netflix doesn’t need a very strong broadband connection, as it works just fine even on 5Mbps speeds.

However, there are people who want to enjoy the platform’s full catalogue, and that comes with a price that maxes out at KES 1100 for the Premium plan.

Here is a breakdown of the plans:

Basic Plan

This plan allows you to stream Netflix on one device at a time and in standard definition (SD) quality. It now costs KES 300, a sharp reduction from KES 700 that the platform was charging some months ago.

Standard Plan

The Standard Plan enables you to stream Netflix on two devices simultaneously and in high definition (HD) quality, if available. It costs KES 700.

Premium Plan

With the Premium Plan, you can enjoy Netflix on up to four devices at the same time, and it offers the highest video quality available, including Ultra HD (4K), if the content and your devices support it. It costs KES 1100.

Mobile Plan

This plan is only available for phones and can be streamed on one device only. It costs KES 200, and the content is shown in standard quality.
