These Samsung phones will not receive Android 14, including Note20 Ultra

Still, all the eight devices are powerful by today’s standards, and if you have them, you can still be able to use them for the next couple of years before you upgrade.

Soon, Samsung will start updating its line of devices with One UI 6 based on Android 14. The dates for the same update have not been made explicit, but if there is something that has become dependable from the South Korean phone maker, then it is Samsung’s update policy which has been very good over the last couple of years.

This means that soon, a number of devices released in recent months and years will receive the new software version. These devices include the A series launched in 2023, alongside the Flip5 and Fold5 more than two months ago. The S23 lineup is also in line, not to mention a bunch of other flagship devices from three or four years ago.

However, some Samsung phones will be skipped this time around, and that is because they have come to the end of their update cycle as promised by the manufacturer. They are:

  1. Galaxy S20
  2. Galaxy S20 Plus
  3. Galaxy S20 Ultra
  4. Galaxy S20 FE LTE/5G
  5. Galaxy Z Flip – LTE/5G
  6. Galaxy Note20
  7. Galaxy Note20 Ultra
  8. Galaxy Z Fold2 5G

For more context, these devices were released a long time ago and we are glad that they have been supported all the way to Android 13. The Note 20 series, for instance, is still a very capable lineup, and can be purchased for a lower price right now. The Z Fold2 was also a good device, although it has been improved iteratively over the years. We wouldn’t advise you to pick one, not to mention that it would still be very difficult finding one in the market. We can say the same thing about the original Flip – but the primary point of not getting these older foldables is their fragility and they may not be covered by a warranty.

Still, all the eight devices are powerful by today’s standards, and if you have them, you can still be able to use them for the next couple of years before you upgrade. For now, the only thing you will miss is the deliciousness and visual overhaul of OneUI 6 and Android 14, but nothing more.
