Samsung’s OneUI has come a long way. While it is great and packed to the brim with many awesome features, one can start feeling that some of its UI elements are getting outdated. For instance, the drop-down menu with quick settings doesn’t look as modern as the competition’s. Some of its stock apps could also use a retouch. Fortunately, Samsung knows these issues and plans to address them with OneUI 6.
Just last week, Samsung kicked off the One UI 6 Beta program, for users with the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra models. The update, based on Android 14, has been officially rolled out in a bunch of western countries.
As said, noteworthy enhancements include a revamped Quick Settings UI design and an innovative camera widget that allows usersto designate photo storage locations prior to capturing images. Samsung in a press release highlights the introduction of a feature allowing you to set distinct wallpapers for various Modes and Routines.
One UI 6 supported Galaxies
Samsung’s generous update policy has simplified the identification of eligible devices. Flagship models from the Galaxy S21 series onward are guaranteed four major updates, while newer mid-range models will receive two, and older ones just two. This confirms Android 14 for devices like Galaxy S21 and later, including Galaxy Z Fold3/4 and Z Flip3/4.
Expected to adopt the latest Android version this year or early next year are mid-range models like Galaxy A73, A72, A54, A53, A52, A34, A33, A24, A14, A13, and A04s, based on past patterns.
Though unofficial, Samsung is unlikely to deviate from this list, potentially adding more devices.
