Wowzi, ADMI seal partnership to train Kenyan content creators

The two organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to empower at least one million content creators, providing them with a platform to transform their creative expression into dignified livelihoods across Africa.

The Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI) and Wowzi, a technology company specializing in influencer marketing, have announced a partnership aimed at empowering content creators and changing the digital media landscape.

The partnership, outlined in an MoU, is focused on empowering at least 1 million content creators across Africa. The collaboration is structured into three phases: preparatory, pilot, and scale. It will involve the creation and promotion of cutting-edge learning content on the Wowzi platform, aimed at enhancing the skills of both aspiring and established content creators within the broader creator economy.

The partnership will involve the development of innovative courses, improved learning experiences, and industry alliances to unlock the full potential of content creators and influencers. The pilot phase will introduce the Influencer Marketing Accelerator, a course designed to meet evolving market demands and provide valuable insights from established influencers.

In recent years, influencer marketing has gained prominence as a powerful strategy for brands to connect with audiences authentically through social media. It has witnessed significant growth globally, driven by the accessibility of platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

In Kenya, social media usage is big, with millions of users actively engaged across various platforms. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and Twitter all have significant user bases in the country. Kenya has also seen the rise of successful YouTubers, contributing to the platform’s growing influence in the region.
