Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S25 series of phones today. While the devices were widely leaked over the past few weeks, we had the opportunity to go hands-on with them at a media event before the official unveiling. As expected, the Ultra models stole the show, but my attention was drawn to the Plus model.
The Plus model has always intrigued me for a few reasons. It’s not the most popular device, rarely spotted in the market—at least among the people I interact with. However, it occupies a sweet spot between the vanilla S model and the Ultra. Its nearly identical battery size to the Ultra is a significant advantage, notably since the vanilla model often lags behind the competition in battery longevity. I wish more people would consider the Plus mode since it costs less than the Ultra while offering a well-rounded package.
This year, the Galaxy S25 Plus has even thinner bezels. And thanks to One UI 7 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it also feels refreshed, but not so much from the hardware point of view. These tiny changes and many lifestyle features make it a compelling choice. We’ll explore these features in greater detail over the coming days as we spend more time with the device.
