Seiko Epson Corporation (Epson) has appointed Junkichi Yoshida as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 April. He succeeds Yasunori Ogawa, who will become Chairman of the Board.

Yoshida, who has experience in business strategy, product development, and global market expansion, stated his focus will be on Epson’s core business areas.

“Our strength lies in technologies such as Micro Piezo printheads and vertical manufacturing. We aim to expand beyond our current business while maintaining customer trust,” Yoshida said.

Epson is in the final year of its strategic plan, Epson 25 Renewed. Yoshida stressed the need for collaboration and adaptation to industry changes.

“We must anticipate customer needs and deliver solutions that go beyond conventional thinking,” he added.

Ogawa, who has led Epson since 2020, said the company had faced significant challenges during his tenure. He stated that the leadership change comes at a critical time in the company’s strategy.

As Chairman, Ogawa will focus on corporate governance and board management.

Mukesh Bector, Epson’s Regional Head for East and West Africa, acknowledged Yoshida’s appointment and said the company would continue expanding in the region with a focus on accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability.
