On the morning of 24th February 2025, business operations at Stima Plaza Complex, Nairobi, were disrupted.

According to a statement seen by TechBooth, Kenya Power Pension Fund (KPPF) is the legal owner of Stima Plaza Complex, which houses tenants such as Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), Cooperative Bank, and Health Point services. The Retirement Benefits Authority regulates KPPF under the Retirement Benefits Act.

On 22nd February 2025, Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company disconnected water and sewerage services at the complex without explanation. Stima Plaza claims this was done despite no outstanding payments.

On 24th February 2025, Nairobi County officials dumped garbage outside the complex and blocked all entrances.

“To this end, Kenya Power Pension Fund condemns this act by the County officials to disrupt business operations to all our tenants; KPLC included,” a statement read.
