Watu, a credit company, will issue uncollected logbooks and number plates to boda boda riders, install and repair GPS trackers on motorcycles, and refurbish and repair mobile phones during a customer clinic in Kilifi County.

The three-day clinic, running from 26 February to 28 February, is for customers who have completed their loan repayments but have yet to collect their logbooks. It will be held at Car & General, Tana Building, Lamu Road, next to Rubis Petrol Station in Malindi.

Watu is distributing over 70,000 uncollected logbooks across the country.

The company will also service and replace GPS trackers for Watu-financed motorcycles, repair and refurbish mobile phones for Watu Simu customers, and address other customer concerns.

Watu Kenya Country Manager Erick Massawe said the clinic aims to help boda boda riders collect their logbooks, maintain GPS trackers, and repair their mobile phones.

Watu has also introduced non-financial initiatives such as Watu Shule, a riding school focused on road safety, and equipping boda boda offices with essential supplies.

The boda boda sector supports over 1.2 million individuals in Kenya through employment and transport services.
