In a much-anticipated move, Oppo has officially introduced its latest Reno series smartphones, the Reno 11 Pro and the standard Reno 11, both featuring 5G capabilities. The devices boast a revamped design at the back, showcasing a new lens arrangement and a fresh cover design, bucking the trend of the industry’s shift away from curved bodies.

Displays

Both smartphones sport impressive 6.7-inch AMOLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification, ensuring vibrant color reproduction and an immersive viewing experience, especially on streaming platforms like Netflix. The Reno 11 hits 800 nits of brightness, while the Pro model goes even further with 950 nits, promising enhanced outdoor visibility.

Optimized camera capabilities

On the camera front, both devices flaunt a 50-megapixel main sensor with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 32-megapixel telephoto lens. The front of each device features a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

Processing power

Distinguishing the two models, besides the unchanged chipset from the Reno 5G on the Reno 11 5G, is the battery capacity and fast charging. The Pro variant boasts a 4,600mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, while the standard model settles for a larger 5,000mAh unit with 67W fast charging. Both smartphones include chargers in the box.

Oppo bids farewell to the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack, opting for a USB Type-C port for all connections, including audio output. Users without Bluetooth earbuds or headsets will need either a 3.5mm to Type-C adaptor or accessories that plug into the Type-C connector.

Storage features

Equipped with 12GB of RAM as standard, the Pro model features faster LPDDR5X memory compared to the standard model’s LPDDR4x. Similarly, the internal storage remains uniform at 256 gigabytes, but the Reno 11 Pro employs faster UFS 3.1 technology, outpacing the standard Reno 11 with UFS 2.2.

Both devices debut with ColorOS 14, Oppo’s latest take on Android, emphasizing the newest Android version 14. Oppo commits to providing long-term software support for the Reno 11 series.
