NMB Bank Plc, in partnership with Mastercard, has introduced Tanzania’s first QR Pay by Link (QR PBL) payment solution. This technology allows small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to accept card payments through QR codes or secure links, thus removing the need for physical point-of-sale (POS) devices.

This solution uses Mastercard Click 2 Pay, a secure, password-free checkout feature, to offer an efficient payment experience for businesses and consumers.

This initiative aligns with the growing demand for digital payment solutions, particularly among SMEs, and addresses the challenges associated with traditional payment methods.

The QR PBL solution simplifies the payment process for businesses, reducing costs and operational complexities. Merchants can now accept card payments directly from their smartphones, expanding their customer base and boosting sales.

On the other hand, consumers benefit from a more convenient and secure payment experience, as they can make payments using their smartphones without needing cash or physical cards.
