The Infinix Hot 50i is probably one of the most interesting phones in the Kenyan market right now. First, because it is affordable at under KES 15,000, and second, because it packs great specs for what other companies charge more for. It also reflects that the company has gone back to its roots, after a short period of selling Hot series of phones at prices that were slightly higher than what most Kenyans could afford.
We have 6 GB of RAM in the boot and a 120 Hz screen right off the bat. The latter is a feature that has been a reserve for phones costing over KES 30,000, and we are glad that Infinix has brought this to the masses.
As usual, this is the Hot phone – Infinix’s entry-level lineup. However, the series, as its feature set suggests, has grown up and is offering more lifestyle features to its consumers than what they would get say five years ago. It shows real progress, where a manufacturer has fine-tuned elements of a budget phone to make it compelling.
