After days of delays, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba released the 2024 KCSE results today. 965,512 candidates sat for the exams in 10,755 centres.
Results
- Grade A: 1,693 candidates.
- University cut-off (C+ and above): 246,392 (25.53%).
- C- and above: 49.41%.
- D+ and above: 62.76%.
- Irregularities: Results for 840 candidates cancelled.
- Gender Stats: For the first time, female candidates (482,202) outnumbered male candidates (480,310).

SMS option has been axed
The SMS option has been discontinued following past complaints.
Immediately after the announcement, the KNEC website experienced downtime. Former Education CS Ezekiel Machogu had earlier assured improvements to the system after phasing out SMS-based access.
