The News:
- Apple has decided to scrap its electric vehicle production plans, and is now focused in pursuing its interests the Artificial Intelligence industry.
The project, dubbed ‘Project Titan’, had been launched in 2014, with major innovations in mind to revolutionize the mobility industry with autonomous vehicles. However, it appears its top executives rethought about it and shut it down.
The move prompted the hiring of experts from leading corporations such as Tesla and Ford. However, due to the change in plans, most have left their posts, while others adapted their skill sets to match different roles in Apple.
With this development, leading EV companies, such as Tesla, BYD, Volkswagen and Hyundai will be able to breath a sigh of relief. This is due to Apple’s reputation for being a major disruptor in the tech industry, with revolutionary products such as the iPod, iPhone, and the Apple watch.
Despite Apple’s accomplishments, however, there are a few products that have failed to live up to the company’s reputation. These include Airpower, television sets, MessageSlate, amongst others. Surprisingly, other competitors such as Xiaomi have recently launched electric vehicles, soon to be in production in as early as 2025.
