Huawei brings GT6 Series and MatePad TXZ to Kenyan market

Huawei Kenya unveiled the new GT6 Series, GT6 Pro and MatePad TXZ tablets at its Lavington office on Thursday. The wearables target users who want better health tracking, longer battery life and smooth connectivity across devices.

The wearables introduce upgraded heart-rate tracking, new cycling analytics, improved sleep features and outdoor sports tools. The GT6 models work with Android, iOS, HarmonyOS and Huawei’s ecosystem. They use materials including sapphire glass and titanium alloy.

Pricing depends on the model and materials. The GT6 starts at KES 33,999, and the GT6 Pro goes up to KES 59,999 for the titanium version. The MatePad 11.5″ 2025 costs KES 59,999. Huawei Kenya is also running Black Friday discounts of up to 50 percent at select stores from 28 to 30 November.

The MatePad TXZ tablets focus on work and learning. They offer a paper-like display, support for creativity apps and features designed to deliver PC-level tasks on a portable device.

Speaking at the event, Wilfred Otieno, Marketing Manager, Devices at Huawei Technologies Kenya, said the company aims to offer tools that help users track health, create content and stay connected across phones, tablets, laptops and wearables.

Huawei said the GT6 Series has already rolled out in China, Malaysia, Japan and the Philippines, with launches coming in Indonesia and the UAE. Kenya is among the first African markets to receive the lineup.

The GT6 Series, GT6 Pro and MatePad TXZ tablets are available at Huawei stores and authorised retailers nationwide, with in-store demos and launch bundles planned.
