Uber Kenya has launched its new product, Uber Van, for customers who travel in groups (7 people). In an email to Uber riders, the e-taxi company said the service is now available “to give rides to large groups and earn more.”
“With Uber Van, families, friends, and groups can enjoy a spacious way to get around town, to/from the airport, attend business conferences, or have a fun night out. Adventure-seekers with travel/sporting equipment can also benefit from Uber Van. Riders can even add up to two extra stops along the way to pick up or drop off friends or family members,” Uber said.
The company has not released the exact trip prices, but it says that Uber Van is priced above Uber Comfort and Uber XL. Uber Comfort (4 passengers) offers a more comfortable ride in newer, spacious cars, while Uber XL is designed for up to six people.
The Van will typically be 10% more expensive than the XL. XL cars are also newer, from 2017 and on.
