Samsung is set to launch its Galaxy S24 series of smartphones tomorrow, January 17. Part of the anticipation surrounding these devices is how the South Korean technology company will integrate artificial intelligence features (Samsung AI). AI, a futuristic technology, is being adopted by various tech companies to improve operations and service delivery – and any other company that is yet to jump into this tech will likely lag behind the competition.

For Samsung, AI has been integral to the company’s philosophy for over a decade, although it was not widely publicised. Its popularity has grown due to increased interest in the technology and advancements in its overall usefulness over the last couple of years. This trend is expected to go beyond smartphones to encompass a wider range of devices.

Per Samsung: “Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd is set to revolutionise the consumer electronics industry with its unwavering commitment to AI-driven technology. Recognising AI as the cornerstone of innovation, Samsung is reshaping the future of its products, embedding AI capabilities across a diverse spectrum of devices.”

“At Samsung, AI isn’t just a feature; it’s the catalyst for transformative experiences. We are reimagining consumer electronics, infusing AI into our products to create personalised, intuitive, and seamlessly connected experiences,” said Mr. Sam Odhiambo, Head of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics East Africa.

With a portfolio of over 500 million smart devices annually, Samsung is positioned to democratise AI, integrating it into everyday life.

AI in Samsung TVs and more

The Samsung Neo QLED 8K QN900D features a built-in AI Processor, the NQ8 AI Gen 3, with an 8 times greater AI neural network and two times faster NPU than its predecessor.

The NQ8 AI Gen3 processor automatically upscales low-resolution content to 8K and sharpens fast-moving images with AI Motion Enhancer Pro. This is a common feature in the latest Samsung TVs, which many users can experience first-hand.

The TV includes Active Voice Amplifier Pro, analysing voice and background noise by AI to optimise the listening experience. Tizen OS Home provides the latest apps, services, personalised content, and service recommendations for an enhanced entertainment experience.

As said above, these features will be expanded and improved in Samsung’s line of products, including fridges, microwaves, washing machines and a ton of other home entertainment products.
