Bayobab to use Infobip CPaaS for SMS management

Infobip and Bayobab have inked five-year strategic partnership that will see Bayobab use Infobip’s Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) modules and routing management.

This will enable Bayobab to handle campaign management, APIs, and analytics and deliver SMS across Africa and beyond.

Bayobab will also implement Infobip’s security solutions, including a firewall, to protect its mobile subscribers. This collaboration aims to streamline Bayobab’s SMS connectivity and reduce associated administrative costs.

Bayobab is a prominent connectivity and infrastructure provider in Africa. The company operates extensively globally, managing over 115,000 km of fibre cable. Bayobab also provides access to and manages 24 subsea cables, and maintains more than 70 Points of Presence (PoPs) across Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Traditionally, brands were required to establish individual connections with each Mobile Network Operator (MNO) within the MTN Group to terminate SMS messages.

However, Infobip’s CPaaS platform simplifies this process. Bayobab can now enable brands and aggregators to securely connect once and terminate traffic to MTN and other operators. This solution provides enhanced control, security, reporting, and efficiency.

Infobip’s CPaaS modules offer a range of capabilities, including a CPaaS platform for campaign and ID management, bulk messaging, and usage reports. They also provide route management, revenue protection, unified reporting, and streamlined onboarding for brands, partners, and suppliers. Infobip’s CPaaS solution integrates core telco network capabilities with RCS and Camara-compliant network APIs.
