BasiGo, Kenya’s electric mobility solutions company, has made forays into the East African market with its latest passenger operations in Kigali, Rwanda. Various bus operators within the capital have been given the green light to take part in the exercise.
The electric buses operate in selected routes within the capital, making the exercise one of its kind in Rwanda. Add to that digital payment platforms such as Tap-and-Go fare collection systems, and the exercise will be a seamless transport experience.
With over 200 electric buses promised by 2025, Rwanda is poised to benefit significantly from the partnership, and in its overall bid to electrify its public transport systems.
