TechTrends named best technology creator at BAKE Awards 2025

Kenya’s digital creator economy took centre stage on December 13 as the Bloggers Association of Kenya hosted the BAKE Awards 2025 in Nairobi.

The ceremony capped a year of rapid growth across podcasts, video, social platforms and niche publishing. It showed where attention, influence and creator income are now heading.

For the first time, BAKE’s top prize ended in a tie. The JoyRide Podcast and agri-creator Sarah Njoroge were named joint Creators of the Year. Njoroge also won Agricultural Creator, making her one of the night’s standout winners.

The awards tracked how Kenyan content has moved beyond blogs into audio, short video and full-scale multimedia publishing. Categories spanned technology, business, education, public health, travel, faith and civic engagement.

Voting closed on December 11 after public participation and judging.
