Last week, Samsung announced the S24 series of devices to succeed the S23 from last year. The devices, as expected, pack the best of the best in mobile technology, including improved cameras, new chips from Qualcomm (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3) and Samsung (Exynos 2400) and a ton of AI features that will quite possibly rival, or even surpass Google’s offerings in its Pixel devices.
Kenyans can preorder the devices up to February 13. The recommended retail prices are, the Galaxy S24 8+256GB will go for KES 174,999; the Galaxy S24+ 12+256GB variant will go for KES 189,999 and the 12+512GB variant will go for KES 234,999; the Galaxy S24 Ultra 12+256GB variant will go for Ksh274,999 and the 12+512GB variant will go for Ksh276,999. These are expensive phones, admittedly, but phone prices have been going up over the last couple of months on account of inflation, a deteriorating KES against the dollar and overall higher taxes on smartphones.
Perks for preordering
As said, the pre-orders for the Galaxy S24 series in Kenya opened on January 18, 2024, and will run until February 13, 2024. Customers making a pre-order for any of the Galaxy S24 series devices with 256GB storage will be upgraded to the 512GB storage variant.
All pre-order customers will be able to enjoy Samsung Galaxy VIP services that include same-day repair for the devices in case of damage.
