Preparations for the Connected Africa Summit 2024 are underway, as confirmed by Eliud Owalo, the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy.
The summit, scheduled to start on the 21st of this month, aims to shape the future of a connected Africa.
CS Owalo said the event will feature sessions with over 30 government and private sector-led institutions from various regions including Europe, America, Asia, Kenya, and across Africa.
These institutions will showcase the latest technological innovations as sponsors of the summit.
Eng. John Tanui, the Principal Secretary, ICT and Digital Economy, supported the government’s commitment to partnerships with media and other organizations for the event’s success.
The summit will include a lineup of local, regional, and global sponsors including GIZ-Team Europe, Safaricom, Huawei Technologies, and others.
The exhibition hall will showcase the latest solutions and technologies from leading companies.
Stanley Kamanguya, CEO of the ICT Authority, highlighted the summit’s role in incubating ideas and urged innovators to participate.
The summit will be attended by key leaders from government agencies, regulatory bodies, and the private sector. It will also provide a platform for African leaders to position the continent’s tech agenda for future global discussions and determine their role in green technology and governance of AI for African realities.
