Binance hosted an International Women’s Day event on 8 March 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya, focused on financial empowerment and increasing female participation in blockchain and crypto.

The event brought together 300 women for workshops, panel discussions, and networking, encouraging them to engage in the Web3 space. Nairobi was one of ten global locations hosting similar events between 5 and 15 March, including Ho Chi Minh City, Dubai, Milan, Madrid, Cape Town, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Mexico City, Lomé, and Astana.

Speakers discussed the role of women in blockchain, challenges in the male-dominated sector, and strategies for overcoming barriers. Panelist Mercy Njane urged women to apply their skills in Web3, while moderator Melissa Kanyi encouraged them to showcase their work and seize financial opportunities.

The event also addressed crypto fraud, with experts sharing safety tips. Participants were encouraged to lead Web3 adoption in Africa and position the continent as a key player in the digital economy.
