CcHub-backed iHub, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, has opened applications for the third cohort of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship in Kenya.
This follows the conclusion of the second entrepreneurship acceleration programme.
The fellowship, designed to support edtech startups, focuses on improving educational outcomes through innovative technologies.
It has already incorporated over 20 startups and has been supporting them with business development support, financial assistance, and insights into the science of learning to scale their solutions.
The 2024 cohort collectively reached 63,571 new learners, with 91% being young learners, iHub revealed during the partnership announcement. This aligns with the programme’s goal of providing quality educational resources to youth.
These startups address Kenya’s education system challenges by making learning tools accessible to underserved communities.
The initiative has driven significant transformation in the sector by fostering local solutions tailored to Kenya’s needs.
It supports the government’s education goals while equipping learners with the skills needed for the future.
